Elkhorn Outdoors, LLC, was established in 1990 and is located in Loveland, Colorado. This small company was founded on the vision of crafting quality fly rods and reels for down-to-earth fly fishers who value fine, honest performance. With focus on product affordability, unmatched warranty service, and perfect fly presentation, Elkhorn rods and reels deliver on all accounts. In fact, Elkhorn is often credited with revolutionizing the industry by introducing a whole new breed of fly rods and reels to the marketplace at a reasonable, sensible price point. Elkhorn now offers over 50 models of high performance, affordable fly rods in weights 1 through 12 and 10 different models of reels. Three and six piece spey rods and hand crafted two piece, two tipped, bamboo rods are among the latest offerings.

Elkhorn added to its success in 1998 by introducing precision machine cut fly reels to the affordable lineup. There are no "die-cast", or inexpensive shortcuts taken in the construction of these quality fly reels. Currently, two series of Elkhorn fly reels, the MA and T series, are offered to perfectly complement our fly rods

Warranty
At Elkhorn, superlative customer service and 100% customer satisfaction are our primary core business goals. Elkhorn rods and reels have a lifetime warranty against manufacturing or workmanship defects. Our no-nonsense guarantee is simple if the rod gets broken, we replace the broken section(s) for $30 each plus shipping. If the reel has a problem, repairs/rebuilds are handled on a case by case basis, but will not exceed $50. So fish hard, you're covered.

Rods
Just because a fly rod is beautiful, durable, and affordable doesn't mean it must compromise its artistic integrity with a hefty price tag. From its superior grade Portuguese cork grips to its quality polished nickel-silver reel seats, Elkhorn rods are hand built by expert crafts people into aesthetically-pleasing works of art.

Perfect presentation is the goal. That is why we design Elkhorn rods with progressive actions. This means the flex increases consistently from tip to butt which gives each rod its smooth balanced feel. When a fly rod sacrifices performance in pursuit of ultra-light weight, control is often compromised, especially with longer rods and heavier lines. Elkhorn rods balance light weight with a power-taper design to deliver everything from #24 dry flies to the largest big game flies with supreme accuracy.

Try a few casts with an Elkhorn rod and you'll be delighted at how smartly and smoothly it delivers the line and fly. Engineered taper, balanced design and precision-weight construction are some of the reasons Elkhorn rods distinguish themselves. We use a few grams more of graphite for increased strength. You probably won't notice it when you're casting the rod. However, in the sometimes rough-and-tumble world of fishing trips, float boats, and car windows, you'll be glad your rod is a ruggedly built Elkhorn. All Elkhorn rods seven weight and above use an anodized aluminum reel seat insert for safe usage in saltwater.

Reels
All Elkhorn reels are fully machine-cut from aircraft-quality aluminum billet stock for supreme strength and maximum corrosion resistance. Low inertia drag systems result in minimum startup resistance. Precision needle bearings glide over a polished chromium alloy spindle to create the silky smooth drag and retrieve that our reels have built their reputation upon. There are no other machined reels that compete with an Elkhorn, guaranteed.
