Please welcome Vincent Powell to the EpicOutfit Family!

Vincent is the first person we have decided to sponsor.

He is an up and coming Mountain bike racer who continues to excel in his sport.

We are happy to have him as part of our family. If you are ever at one of his events, Please be sure to cheer him on!

Way to go Vincent!!!!! As Vincent finishes races we will be posting his results. More to follow on his progress this season.

Here is a little about Vincent:

My name is Vincent Powell and I race in the gravity events of the Mountain States Cup(MSC),  in the Expert 19-24 category.  The summer of 2008 will be my 3rd full racing season.  The first race I ever entered was at the final race of the MSC, Keystone Climax, in 2005.  I had never ridden on anything so intense before that, and was racing in the Junior Beginner category.  I ended up getting a flat half way down, but kept on riding anyway.  Even though I had a rough experience my first time, I stuck with it and ended up winning the overall Gravity Series Champion in the MSC in 2007 just two years later.

My best event is Mountain Cross or 4X.  I managed to win 2nd place in Snowmass, and 3rd place at the national event in Angel Fire in 2007 while racing expert.   I also race the Dual Slalom (DS) and the Downhill.  My goal is to become competitive in the Downhill for 2008, and continue to do well in the gated events (DS, 4X).

I don’t only race gravity.  When I am not competing I ride cross country, go dirt jumping, and urban assault.  Urban assault is the best for honing skills when trails are snowed over, or I don’t have enough time to get to a trail to ride.  Every time I go trials riding I get better, and it is the most gratifying because you can make many small accomplishments in one hour.  My favorite is hopping sideways up a flight of stairs. (I once hopped up two flights of 21 stairs at Coors Events Center in Boulder!)

Other than riding I am also a full time mechanical engineering undergrad at the University of Colorado, and in the summer I work full time.  I am a Boulder native, and an outdoor enthusiast.
